Oh, the bitter pain and sorrow that a time could ever be,
When I proudly said to Jesus,
"All of self and none of Thee."

Yet He found me; I beheld Him,
Bleeding on the accursed tree;
And my wistful heart said faintly,
"Some of self and some of Thee."

Day by day His tender mercy,
healing, helping, full and free,
Brought me humbler while I whispered,
"Less of self, and more of Thee!"

Higher than the highest heavens,
Deeper than the deepest sea,
"Lord, Thy love at last has conquered;
None of self and all of Thee!"

" I am sure that outside of God's will
I cannot succeed;
Inside of that will I cannot fail ! "

E. Stanley Jones

Tsunami

The Asian tsunami of December 26, 2004, will be talked about until the end of the age, since it is now known that it was the second most destructive tsunami/earthquake in history. No doubt, books and movies will come from it, following numerous reports from various media. The following account was sent from Japan to Jan Markel of Olive Tree Ministries.

Almost 80% of the town of Meulaboh in Aceh Province in Indonesia was destroyed in the tsunami. In that town there are about 400 Christians. They wanted to celebrate Christmas on December 25th in their town, which is a Muslim enclave; but they were told that they would have to go outside of Meulaboh to celebrate. In other words, they would have to "get out of town" for their celebration. So they did.

After they celebrated on December 25th, they stayed overnight on the high hill where they had gathered. The next morning the tsunami waves destroyed 80% of the town below, and tens of thousands of people perished. But every one of the 400 believers who had been forced out of town and who had gathered on that high hill were spared. Not one of them lost their life. Now that's "divine protection," and it's absolutely amazing! Amazing Grace!

Psalm 121:1-3 - I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer (allow) thy foot to be moved:
he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
